Breast Compression

See www.DrJackNewman.com for a video on breast compression

Breast compression can help transfer more milk to the baby, promotes let down and may help increase the supply.

It is done when the baby is latched on the breast and scant swallows are heard or the baby is sleeping.

When the baby  sucks simply compress the breast with a firm but not painful amount of pressure and hold the pressure while the baby sucks.  Release the breast when the baby pauses. Compress the breast again when the baby sucks.
